    The New Careers in Nursing Program

    The New Careers in Nursing (NCN) Program is designed to welcome qualified applicants to work at HHC while pursuing a low-cost BSN degree through the University’s School of Nursing. Participants will complete the approved and accredited program on a part-time basis over the course of two years, while maintaining employment with HHC.
     
    Admission Requirements

    Admission requirements include:
    1. Bachelor’s degree: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university OR a minimum of 60 transferable credits (associates degree or credits towards bachelor's degree).
    2. GPA: Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B)
    3. Completion of prerequisite course work:
      1. Microbiology with a lab (4 credits total)
      2. Anatomy & Physiology I with a lab (4 credits total)
      3. Anatomy & Physiology II with a lab (4 credits total)
      4. Statistics
      5. Introduction to Psychology
    • All prerequisite courses must be taken within the last 5 years with a grade of B- or better.
    • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended (including Fall 2025), whether or not grades were earned.
    • Official transcripts must be sent electronically to accelnursing@qu.edu
    • Deadline to apply for the Spring 2026 cohort is February 1, 2026
